Triple the Sketch

I used the very first sketch from the Triple the Sketch site for my MDS (My Digital Studio) projects. You can pick a sketch and use it to create page layouts, cards, and tags- all from one sketch. I {heart} the sketches on Triple the Sketch :). For my first sketch project, I made a 6x6 card using Dusty Durango (yeah for My Digital Studio and all the fabulous retired colors we still have access to :D ! ), Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, and Daffodil Delight. My sentiment is done in Cajun Craze.
For my second project, I made a digital scrapbook page of our kitty Dooberoo, who, after a hard day of crafting with me, passed out on top of my card stock scraps file box :). I used Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz Designer Series Papers; Cajun Craze, Whisper White, and Pear Pizzazz for the rest of the components on the page.

It was a lot of fun using the same sketch for two different types of projects. I may have to try a tag with this sketch :D. Wishing you all a wonderful day today!!

Blessings!

Dasher and Milk :D

I discovered that our large Stampin' Around wheels fit our Milk Carton die perfectly :D. You'll see the milk carton in a minute- I wanted to show you the card first ;). I used Dasher- he is so regal- I just love him! I added some tiny red gems to his antlers and tiny gold ones to the snowflakes that are mingled in with his antlers.
The inside is stamped with a sentiment from Many Merry Messages. It's one of my favorite sentiment sets for Christmas :).
And here is the little milk carton that goes with the card. I die cut my milk carton from Whisper White- cause that is the color that milk cartons used to be, lol ;) ! I used Cherry Cobbler ink and card stock, topped it off with Real Red ribbon. The little sentiment is from Delightful Decorations.

I added this on Thursday and scheduled it to post today. I'm really hoping that I had time to get into my stamping room over the weekend! Have a GREAT week everyone!!

Blessings!
Barb

Christmas Cookies :)

When I first saw this stamp set, I thought of gingerbread :). I stamped on Creamy Caramel (retired :'( , boo hoo hoo!!) with Versa Mark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I inked the edges with Creamy Caramel ink (also retired) so they would have that baked around the edges look :). After punching them out with the Scallop Circle punch, they too were added to my die cut box, but here they are now :D.
And the inside sentiment...

I have another Christmas card that I will post on Monday. It has a matching milk carton to go with it :). See you then! Have a great weekend!!!

Blessings!

Autumn is Coming

I'm sorry it has taken me a week to get back to my blog. It's taking us longer than I thought to adjust to our new schedules :(. But here I am finally. While waiting at the rink while my daughter is practicing and being coached, I decided to make my wait time productive :). I brought my supplies with me and worked on another Flip Album. This time I used some retired Designer Series Paper that I hadn't used up. I try not to use retired stuff too much on my blog, but sometimes you just gotta use that stuff up! This can be done though, with the new autumn DSP (Autumn Spice- 120808) in the Holiday mini :D.
On the cover, I used a non-Stampin' Up! (gasp!!) die cut leaf. It was just the right size for my cover and I've had this die cut laying in my die cut box since before I became a Demo. It was time to use it :).
I made a pumpkin with one of the oval punches and stamped the pumpkin leaf with one of the stamps from the Falling Leaves stamp set. I stamped the word 'autumn' with my Schoolbook Serif alphabet and added some die cut flowers from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlits. The centers of the flowers have been embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder.
I used the sentiment from Falling Leaves and the Word Window and Modern Label punches on the next page.
Here is the book opened up. Not quite done yet with embellishing it. I need to take it to the rink with me again, lol! On the inside flaps of the book in the photo below, I thought I would add more flower die cuts from Birds and Blooms.

So there ya' have it. I really love making these Flip Albums. They are just too awesome! You can fit a lot in them and they fold up to 6x6 square. You could make several in different themes and keep them in a basket on your coffee table. Great way to show off your photos :). Have a wonderful day today everyone!!!!

Blessings!

Crafting Kitty :)

This is what happens when your kitty spends the entire day crafting with you :). He gets tired and sleeps on top of the files that hold your card stock scraps.

I have to get photos of my last projects and have a looooong day at the rink today, so will get those posted later on this evening :). Have a great day today!!!

Blessings!

Build-a-Bear Workshop Thank You's

Have I ever mentioned that I love my Build-a-Bear dies? They are NOT just for kids :-) ! If you loved playing with paper dolls when you were little, you will love playing with the Build-a-Bear collection of dies, lol! The Build-a-Bear collection of dies are great for scrapping those photos from Build-a-Bear Workshop, but kids love cards made with them, and so do grown ups ;-). Not only are there dies in the collection, but stamps as well.

I made a set of thank you cards yesterday with my Build-a-Bear dies. This year's Idea Book & Catalog brings us some new clothes for our bears, 'Beary Dressy'. I just love this little outfit- too cute!! This dress reminds me of the little sun dresses my girls wore when they were little.
Sponging ink around your bear, the clothes, and adding a little bit of Stampin' Pastel to the cheeks give your little bears depth and character. You can also use some of your other dies with the bears, such as the small butterflies from the 'Beautiful Wings' embosslit. Perfectly sized for little bears :-).

I mentioned that Stampin' Up! also offers stamp sets in the Build-a-Bear Workshop collection. One of the sets is a collection of Beary cute little sentiments, lol!

If you layer a sheet of card stock and a sheet of Designer Series Paper on your die and roll them through at one time, you will be able to mix and match pieces to get different looks for your bear's attire. I didn't do it on these cards, but usually, I add 'Crystal Effects' to my die cut buttons to make them shiny. Bears and buttons just seem to go together, don't ya' think :-) ? Okay, that's my post for today. Have to start school with my daughter. Have a wonderful day today!!!

Blessings!

Fold Over Card

I got the inspiration for the folding of this card from a file folder project that I saw on Stamper's Connection for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. When I saw her file folders, I instantly thought, "that would make a cool card"... here is the end result :-).

Not too much chat today because I am going into my stamping room and spending the entire day in there!!!! Whoo hoo!!!! It has been so long I hope I remember how to stamp, lol! I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Blessings!

Just for you Kim!

I was going to wait until Monday morning to post this project, but I came to my blog this morning to check on something and found a comment from Kim that made me LOL! Kim feels that I need to try harder to get to my stamping room- rotfl!!! I have been so busy to the point of stress lately and I sooooooo needed her comment to lighten things up- thanks Kim :-) !!!! You totally made my day brighter!

To that end... here is my project :-). My ladies made this a couple of weeks ago in stamp class. We all ordered the Christmas Cheer Simply Scrappin' Kit in July so we could make these in the August class. They all did a great job making theirs and now all they have to do is add some embellishments and photos and they are good to go. Here's the cover of our 6x6 flip albums...
We used 'Dasher' on our cover. Isn't he awesome?! I'm so glad that Dasher carried over into the new catalog. He is one of my very favorite stamps :-)!

Next is the inside just as you open the cover.

This is a photo of the book opened part of the way. It stretches out from 6x6 to about 24 inches fully opened, if I re-call my measurements correctly ;-).

The left panel- the right panel matches the left one exactly....

And last, but not least- the very center panel.

These little flip books are completely awesome little books and never fail to get a "wow" from someone opening the book for the first time. They are just too cool!!! If you would like the instructions for making these, please visit Jenny's Blog. You will need to look on the right sidebar and scroll down a little way past the middle point. Look for the 'I Wish Flip Album Stamp Class'. Her tutorials are very reasonably priced and very well written with lots of photos. Once you purchase the instructions- you can use any card stock, DSP, and other Stampin' Up! products to create dozens and dozens more for gifts. Well worth the investment!!

I haven't finished decorating my flip book yet because I like to see what photos I'm going to use first :-). But I think I'm going to get two more kits and make these for my girls for their stockings. They'll love them! All right- now I am going to get back to my busy life :-). Have a wonderful and blessed weekend everyone!!!!!!

Blessings!
Barb PS- I am locking myself in my stamping room on Monday!!! No school and no housework for me!!!!!

Really Trying...

We started back to home schooling last week and it takes us a couple of weeks to get back into the routine of school after the whole summer off. We are using a new curriculum this year, so I am adjusting to the extra preparation time as well. It's a great curriculum and my daughter is really enjoying it so we are going to stick with it :).

My daughter has a friend who is getting ready to deploy and is also a member of her skate team, so we are having a going away party for him this weekend. We will miss him at the rink :(. There will be a whole competition year without him and I know that my daughter will really miss him at each Meet. We are thankful for so much communication technology so we will be able to keep in contact with him often. Still, it won't be the same as seeing him at the rink.

I have a couple of projects that I got done in the very scarce time that I have had :), and hope to get those posted by the weekend. Hopefully, I can get some photos either today or tomorrow. I am so sorry for being so absent from my blog. I really am trying to get back to my stamping room, and honestly, I am starting to get frustrated with not having time to 'just stamp'. When I do get back there, I may not come out for several hours :).... seriously!

I hope everyone has had a great week so far and thank you soooooo much for sticking with me while I am trying to get back to my stamping room!!! Big hugs to you all!!!

Blessings!
